NTG · SPORTS REPORTING · V1.0
The evidence behind the organization
Compare sporting activity, supporters, revenue and athlete support with NTG’s common KPI framework. Contribute evidence or request sponsor review and fundraising management.
For clubs, teams, leagues, tournament organizers and federations. Published research helps potential partners understand sporting activity, audience, finances and athlete benefit.
Your financial report, in a reusable JSON standard
Create an account, give the template to your accountant and submit a completed JSON report. Each submission preserves a dated revision with the organization identifier and reporting period, and registers a fingerprint through HUGS ID. Download earlier years, edit a copy for a new year and keep the history in one place. Other systems can validate and reuse the same public schema. HUGS ID registration records integrity and provenance; financial accuracy and organization authority require separate review.
Alternatively, submit the public URL where your organization publishes its report. NTG can review and map that evidence into the standard. Financial account connections are a future capability; current submissions are JSON or public report links. Ask HUGS for the sports reporting JSON template to find this page.
One shared reporting framework
Every figure needs a reporting entity, sport, period, unit, original source and evidence status. Sport-specific measures extend this core: match results, rankings, qualification, athlete retention or tournament formats.
| Metric | Reporting definition |
|---|---|
| Games / events completed | Completed events, separate from scheduled events. |
| Teams / programs | Active teams or programs on the stated date; identify the sport and competition. |
| Registered athletes | Unique active athletes; separate participants from staff and supporters. |
| Staff / seasonal workforce | State whether headcount or full-time equivalents, and include seasonal scope. |
| Tickets sold | Paid tickets sold, separate from complimentary tickets and admissions. |
| Ticket redemption | Redeemed tickets divided by eligible tickets; disclose the denominator. |
| Recorded attendance | Admissions or unique people; identify the counting method. |
| Supporter club members | Identify the program and paid/free status; do not merge donors, athletes or waiting lists. |
| Ticket waiting / lottery list | List registrations, separate from tickets sold and paid members. |
| Social followers | State platforms and accounts; combined totals are not unique people. |
| Livestream views | Platform-defined views, separate from unique viewers and broadcast audience. |
| Broadcast audience | Identify the event, broadcaster and measurement window. |
| Merchandise customers served | Report the source counting method; do not assume unique buyers. |
| Merchandise items ordered | Items ordered, separate from revenue and fulfilled orders. |
| Average player salary | Mean salary in the stated currency and season; not minimum or median pay. |
| Prizes paid | Confirmed disbursements, separate from announced awards; identify team or athlete recipient. |
| Revenue | State legal entity, period, currency and accounting basis; separate estimates. |
| Operating expenses | Disclose included costs and accounting basis. |
| Sponsorship / donations | Separate sponsorship revenue, donations, commitments and cash received. |
| Youth / development participants | Unique participants and age range; separate bursaries, access costs and program attendance. |
Comparable evidence for partner review
Compare peers within the same sport and organization type. A federation, a commercial league, a single club and a research category have different roles. A member program’s accounts do not represent the whole association.
- Match the legal entity, reporting period, geography, currency and measurement definition.
- Separate audited accounts, filed returns, organization statements, third-party estimates and forecasts.
- Show missing and not applicable values explicitly; never fill gaps with zero.
- Review costs, athlete benefit and operating structure alongside reach. Revenue, transfer fees and prize pools are different measures and are not valuations.
NTG publishes a reporting framework, not a certification or universal investment score. Research supports due diligence; it does not guarantee fundraising outcomes.
From contribution to publication
Submit figures with original public evidence and your relationship to the organization. NTG reviews scope, dates and sources before deciding whether to update the public report. Submissions remain private until reviewed; submitting does not establish official ownership or independent verification.
Published records distinguish public-source research, organization-reported data and independently audited or filed accounts. Corrections retain their source and review date. A paid consultancy relationship must be disclosed on any resulting report.

Clubs, teams, leagues and federations can contribute source-backed updates, request corrections, or ask NTG to prepare an investor or sponsor review.
NTG can scope and manage a tournament or organization fundraising engagement for an agreed fee. Paid work is disclosed and never purchases a verification badge or a better comparison result.
